Keep Mangonui ATAAHUA

Mangonui is a beautiful place. It was named after a big shark
and it is a special place to be. We live right beside the sea.
I think we should keep Mangonui tidy and clean of rubbish.

Whenever I'm finished with my rubbish, I put it in the bin.

Rubbish floats in the sea and flies with the wind. Big parts of
the sea are filled with rubbish, and it looks like a dead zone for
the sea animals.

I can recycle and reuse what I can. I can make my own T-shirt
bags instead of using plastic bags at the shop. I think we should always say no to plastic bags.

Even if you reuse and recycle, a million people still use single
use plastic and plastic bags.  The thing about single use plastic
is that you can only use it once.

Plastic bags look a lot like jellyfish and if it blows into the sea.
Whales and other sea life will think its jellyfish and eat it and die.

I think that Mangonui is a traffic place to be. we all need to keep
Mangonui ataahua, by keeping Mangonui clean and tidy of
rubbish.
